Hopi Ear Candling

Hopi Ear Candles originate from the native American tribe of the Hopi Indians, who are renowned for their knowledge of healing and their spiritual lifestyle.

The Hopi Ear Candles are about 12 inches long and are hollow inside.  I use Biosun Candles that are made up of 100% beeswax, honey extracts and traditional herbs such as sage, St Johns Wort, and Chamomile.  I also use Biosun candles that contain essential oils such as lavender, lemongrass,  peppermint and lemon.

The client is asked to lie on their side and after checking the ear condition the candle is lit and gently inserted into the outer ear.  A light suction action (chimney effect) occurs inside the ear candle and vibration of the rising air column gently massages the ear drum, softens ear wax and promotes healing.

Clients often describe a soothing and warming sensation.  Close your eyes and listen to the gentle crackle of the flame.  Once the candle has burnt down sufficiently usually in 8 - 12 minutes, the client is asked to turn over and a second candle is used for the other ear.

After the candles have been used a beautiful face massage (optional) is administered to the head, ears and face to "kick start" the lymphatic drainage system and give the receiver a wonderful relaxing experience.  You will be then left for 5 minutes to relax whilst your therapist collects you a cup of herbal or fruit tea.

Hopi Ear Candles can be used simply as an excellent way to relax and unwind and can give a real calming effect and sense of well being but this treatment is also beneficial in helping to improve nasal breathing and sense of smell, along with a soothing pain relieving sensation in the ear and head area.  The use of the candles induces a pleasant feeling of warmth and a balance of pressure in the ears, forehead and sinuses.  Is is also soothing for earache, compacted wax, headache and migraine, tinnitus, swimmers ear, sinusitis, glue ear, hay fever, stress and nervousness.
